We were privileged to be involved in a project with BBC’s DIY SOS, where the team carried out one of their most ambitious builds to date on the Isle of Sheppey.

Last week, Viewers tuned in to watch the DIY SOS team build a brand new home from scratch for two fathers in Sheppey.DIY SOS Ratcliffe Family

The couple, who have four children – three of whom have complex special needs, were struggling to tend to their adopted children’s requirements in a tiny three bedroomed bungalow with one bathroom, when Nick Knowles’ team arrived to demolish and completely reconstruct their family home in just nine days.

DIY SOS, which has been running on the BBC since 1999, is well known for making a difference to the homes of struggling families across the nation, with local companies providing help and support through labour, product donations and other services.

We were delighted Gledhill StainlessLite Unvented Cylinderto be presented with the opportunity to donate one of our leading StainlessLite unvented cylinders to the worthwile cause, which was installed to meet the hot water demands of the reconstructed five bedroomed property with two bathrooms.

Chris Gledhill, Production Director, said: “When we were approached by the DIY SOS team, we were honoured to be a part of such a worthy cause for a deserving family and wanted to help in anyway we could. We felt the StainlessLite unvented cylinder was the perfect donation for the family’s new home due to its ability to provide mains pressure hot water throughout the extensive new property.”DIY SOS - Isle on Sheppey

With seven depots situated across the nation, we were able to ship the StainlessLite cyinder from our manufacturing centre in Blackpool to the most locally situated depot in Southampton, enabling a quick delivery to the rapid renovation carried out by the team.
